Documentary filmmaker based in Berlin.
I direct, produce, and shoot, often all at once. My feature documentaries Está Todo Bien (2018) and Jackie the Wolf (2023) premiered at IDFA, Sheffield Doc/Fest and Hot Docs, and now stream on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. I've worked as cinematographer for Ai Weiwei and produced documentaries commissioned or coproduced by France TV, Deutsche Welle and 3sat/ZDF. I’ve filmed in Gaza, Ukraine, and along the Colombia-Venezuela border.
Alongside my films, I pursue long-term photography projects, shot mostly on film. I’m drawn to work about authentic people, craftsmanship, politics, healthcare, and, always, Venezuela.
Born and raised in Caracas. German father, French mother, Russian grandparents. I grew up in many languages and never quite belonged to one place.
