Stauffenberg, 2025
In a distillery in Bavaria stands a copper still where Franz von Stauffenberg’s ancestors once distilled their court schnapps. It had sat unused for generations, until he reclaimed it and brought it back to life. Today he makes gin and vodka in that same still, heated by a wood fire as it always was. I spent a week with him, following the process from fire to bottle.
